Raised within a sacred lineage of temple deity decorators (Alangaram) and apprenticed from early childhood under his father, Thangaraj founded the Mumbai Academy in 2021. He personally mentors young students in drawing fundamentals and grade-exam preparation, while guiding adult painters through anatomical portraiture, classical oils, and master-level 24k gold foil Tanjore gesso relief and framing.
Located at the Community Craft Center in Dharavi, Mumbai, our academy provides a dedicated, light-filled studio environment equipped with individual wooden easels, professional palettes, and archival supplies.
